Actress Barbara Young, who has appeared in Coronation Street and Family Affairs, was bingo caller at a fundraising evening at Jewish Care’s Clore Manor care home in Hendon, at which £755 was raised. Seventy people attended the event which included a bagel supper; the function was arranged by the home’s Friends committee, co-chaired by Paul Graham and his wife, Elise.
Mr Graham has a special reason for supporting the home, his mother Rose is a resident and he knows “how important the fundraising is to provide little extras and entertainment.”
During the evening two of the residents, sisters-in-law Julia Abrahams and Golda Fox, won a cash prize of £25, which they donated back to the home.
Martin Foley, the home’s manager, praised the committee for their dedication, describing the evening as “very enjoyable.”
