
Jewish Care’s Redbridge Jewish Community Centre held its annual youth leadership awards ceremony marking the achievements of around 80 volunteers aged between 14 and 19, who have taken part in the centre’s programmes. These included recipients of Jack Petchey Awards and participants of gap year programmes in Israel, the latter are assisted by Sidney Gold Community Trust Fund scholarships. Also commended were the centre’s Performing Arts Academy volunteers and those helping at Clore Tikva’s after-school club.
Guests were welcomed by Jewish Care vice chair Jonathan Goldstein; community shlicha Revital Shloman and centre manager Richard Shone also spoke. Also present were Bernard Sinclair MBE, the centre’s life president and Neil Taylor, Jewish Care’s community services director. The event was organised by youth leadership volunteer coordinator Jacqui Raymond and community programme manager Sam Clifford.
